Brandon David Wilson

Brandon Wilson is a filmmaker, film writer, and lecturer. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he attended UCLA where he took a B.A. in African-American Studies and an M.F.A. from the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. In 2005 he made his feature debut The Man Who Couldn’t… for under $10,000 on standard definition digital video. The film debuted at the 2005 Pan-African Film Festival and won the Oscar Micheaux Award at the Bare Bones Film Festival in Oklahoma. His second feature SEPULVEDA world premiered in New York City at the 2016 Urbanworld Film Festival. Wilson has recently taught courses at UCLA, Glendale Community College and Whatcom Community College. He has also taught at Cal State Long Beach, Columbia College Hollywood, Los Angeles Valley College and Long Beach Community College. He has curated film series for the Pickford Film Center in Bellingham, WA and for the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles. His film reviews and essays have appeared in Shadow & Act, The Playlist, American Cinematographer, and he is a frequent contributor to RogerEbert.com.
